This past week we came across a litter of Juvenile Squirrels that were the same age as this squirrel in the photo. This was very surprising because it is quite late in the year for us to see squirrels this young. Baby squirrels are typically born in April/May and August/September.
Squirrels born this late in the year will have their work cut out for them as most of their food sources are buried under the snow. They may be forced to rely on handouts and bird feeders to get through the winter.
